Kuretake Saiboku Shimbi is a colored sumi ink stick which demonstrates the beautiful, vibrant colors used in traditional Japanese style paintings.
This set includes the three primary colors of Saiboku ShimbiI and glass inkstone.
A variety of colors can be created by combining these three colors.
Additionally, adjusting the amount of water allows for various expressions such as subtle gradations, bleeding effects, and soft shading, making it ideal for a wide range of styles such as Japanese painting, watercolor painting, and ink wash painting.
Formulated with high-quality pigments, the colors resist fading over time, making this set suitable for creating long-lasting fine art.
Artwork created with these inks can be mounted. When you applied dense ink, we recommend applying a fixative spray, such as Kuretake Surface Spray for Calligraphy, after the piece is completely dry.

【How to Use】
1. Drop a coin-sized droplet of water on the flat part (the hill) of the inkstone.
2. Grind the ink stick into the water in a circular motion.
3.When the ink reaches your preferred consistency, guide it into the pool (the ocean) of the inkstone. Repeat steps 1–3 until you have prepared your desired amount of ink.
4. After use, be sure to wipe off any moisture from the ink stick with a cloth or paper towel. Store the ink stick in the wooden box to preserve it.
